Benchmarks
A benchmark is a permanently affixed mark that establishes the exact elevation of a place; used by Surveyors in measuring site elevations, or as a starting point for Surveys.

Encroachment Permits
Encroachment permits are required in several instances when working in the public right-of-way.

Standard Details
All work within the City’s right-of-way is required to comply with the City of Saratoga Standard Details and Specifications for Construction.

Storm Drain Maps
The City owns and maintains the storm drains only. The sanitary sewer lines are owned and maintained by Cupertino Sanitary District and West Valley Sanitation District.

Stormwater Pollution Prevention
Everywhere in the West Valley storm drains carry water from streets and yards to local creeks and on to San Francisco Bay - without wastewater treatment. There are a number of regulations in place to prevent pollution and the public may report pollution concerns.

Traffic Safety
The Traffic Safety Commission investigates, reviews and analyzes traffic safety issues raised by the Community members and Public Safety Agencies.
