In 2009, the City of Saratoga joined the County of Santa Clara and other cities in the Santa Clara Valley as a member of the CaliforniaFIRST property assessed clean energy (PACE) program. PACE lets homeowners finance the entire cost of energy-and safety-related home improvements, such as heating and cooling upgrades, energy-efficient roofs and windows, home solar, water-saving measures, and seismic retrofits.
