COVID-19 UpdateThe County of Santa Clara has moved into the State of California’s Orange Tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Santa Clara County will remain in this tier until the State moves the County forward into the Yellow Tier or back into the Red Tier. The most restrictive rules apply to the Purple Tier, and the least restrictive rules apply to the Yellow Tier. The Public Health Officer’s new Revised Risk Reduction Order is now in effect, which allows additional services in the County to operate, in accordance with the State order. Remember, Santa Clara County residents must follow both the State and County Health Officer Orders. Where there is a conflict between the two, follow the more restrictive set of rules. Changes include allowing indoor dining and indoor gatherings, with limitations, and capacity increases for museums, zoos, and retail operations. Allowing additional activities and capacity does not mean these activities are safe. COVID-19 continues to pose a serious risk throughout our County. Everyone must remain cautious, maintain social distance, wear a face covering, and move activities outdoors when possible. Quick Tip from Captain RichAs the weather cools down, make sure you’re careful with space heaters! They may be small, but they pack a powerful punch. Make sure there is plenty of space around the heater so it can vent, and never leave a space heater unattended.
