Pfizer Vaccine Booster Available

Pfizer boosters are now available in Santa Clara County for those eligible. Boosters offer additional security for those who are at high risk for complications from COVID-19 due to age or pre-existing conditions. Make an appointment for your booster on the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health's website at www.sccFreeVax.org

Workshop: How to Seek Appointed Offices

Are you interested in volunteering for appointed positions in cities, school districts, or special districts? Register online for a free virtual workshop titled “How to Seek Appointed Offices” hosted by WIRE for Women on October 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Panelists will share their insights on finding opportunities, preparing for the application and interview, and successfully being appointed.

City Council Meeting Agenda - October 6

The October 6 City Council meeting agenda is available online at www.saratoga.ca.us/agenda. You can speak on items you're interested in by joining the meeting using Zoom or calling in. Detailed participation instructions are available on the meeting agenda. You can also watch the meeting without participating on KSAR Channel 15 or the City’s website. Written comments can be sent to the City Council before the meeting.

Kitchen Pail Delivery

This fall, West Valley Collection & Recycling will deliver kitchen pails to homes and multi-family complexes. Place items like food scraps, coffee grounds and paper filters, tea bags, food-soiled paper, and paper towels in kitchen pails during the week, then transfer the contents to green containers as necessary. Housing Element Community Meetings

Join the City of Saratoga’s Planning Commission for a series of community meetings where you can share your input on the Housing Element Update. The Planning Commission is seeking ideas for possible opportunity sites and housing policies to consider before they make a recommendation to the City Council.

Please mark your calendar for the following meeting dates:

• Wednesday, October 27 at 6 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 9 at 6 p.m.
• Monday, November 22 at 6 p.m.
• Tuesday, December 7 at 6 p.m.

The Housing Element Update is an ongoing process, and the City continues to receive new information from the State and regional planning organizations. The most current information was presented to the City Council and Planning Commission at a virtual Study Session on August 31. Volunteering for a City Commission is a great way to learn about the City, give back to the community, and explore your interests in a new way. The City is currently accepting applications for the Parks and Recreation Commission, Public Art Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission, and Traffic Safety Commission.
