City Council Meeting Agenda

The January 19 City Council meeting agenda is available online at www.saratoga.ca.us/agenda. You can speak on items you're interested in by joining the meeting using Zoom or calling in. Detailed participation instructions are available on the meeting agenda. You can also watch the meeting without participating on KSAR Channel 15 or the City’s website at www.saratoga.ca.us/watch. Written comments can be sent to the City Council before the meeting online at www.saratoga.ca.us/comment

Housing Element Update

To comply with the state-required Housing Element Update, the City Council is now deciding where future housing could be built. At the City Council meeting on January 19 at 7:00 p.m., the Council will provide direction on the housing opportunity sites and policies to be studied in the Environmental Impact Report for the Housing Element Update. The virtual meeting access information is available on the meeting agenda at www.saratoga.ca.us/agenda

You can visit www.saratoga.ca.us/housing to review tentative housing opportunity sites, along with housing policies and programs, then share your feedback with the Council using the online comment form at www.saratoga.ca.us/comment or at the meeting. If more time is needed to deliberate the Housing Element item, a Special Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Martin Luther King Jr. Event

Join West Valley College and the Saratoga Ministerial Association for an event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. The event will begin at City Hall with guest speakers. Then, attendees will march down Fruitvale Avenue to West Valley College where the celebration will continue with more guest speakers and local, black-owned businesses.

SED Talks for Teens: Mend your Mind

Join the Saratoga Youth Commission and Saratoga Library’s Teen Advisory Board for SED Talks—Ted Talks, Saratoga style! Teens and their parents are invited to listen to speakers about mental health and self care on Saturday, January 22 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Register for the Zoom webinar and watch an informational video about the event.

Save the Date: City Council Retreat

The City Council will hold its annual retreat virtually on Friday, January 28 at 9:00 a.m. During this full-day session, the Council will discuss collective goals and priorities for the year, along with various topics of interest. Stay tuned for the meeting agenda and virtual meeting access information.

Make an Impact in Saratoga

Be part of the process! The City of Saratoga needs knowledgeable and talented residents to advise the City Council on a wide range of subjects that impact the community. The City is currently seeking volunteers to serve on Traffic Safety Commission and Planning Commission. Visit www.saratoga.ca.us/comvac to learn more and apply.
