Let's Work Volunteer Day - March 11

Sign up for Let’s Work on March 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to join the Parks & Recreation Commission to beautify and maintain the trails at Quarry Park. This volunteer group meets on the second Saturday of the month from November through April, weather permitting. Submit a Volunteer Interest Form before the event to receive additional information and instructions.

St. Paddy's Party

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the Saratoga Village from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023. There's plenty to do for the whole family! Search for green gold, nibble on green popcorn, and more. Event is sponsored by The Saratoga Village Development Council. 

Paint the City - Applications Due March 12

Calling all Saratoga artists! Through the City's Paint the City program, 3 utility boxes will be transformed into works of art. Saratoga residents ages 10 and older can submit applications by March 12. The Public Art Commission will then narrow down design options, and the community will vote for their favorites. Seeking City Commissioners

City Commissioners are volunteers that serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on a variety of subjects, helping to address community needs and interests. The City is currently accepting applications for the Youth, Heritage Preservation, Library & Community Engagement, Parks & Recreation, and Public Art Commissions. Saratoga Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project 

Beginning in March, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in partnership with the City of Saratoga and the County of Santa Clara, will begin construction of the Saratoga Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Highway 9. The project is currently scheduled to be completed in December 2023. One way lane closures will occur during construction activities between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for travel. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Learn more on the Caltrans project website.

Housing Element Update 

Updated Second Draft of the Housing Element

The Housing Element Second Draft (PDF) has been updated to address public comments, and it has been submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for review. We expect to receive the State's second round of comments in 60 days, which will be on or before March 28. When the comment letter has been received, the City will be able to schedule future public meetings.

Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

The Draft Environmental Impact Report (PDF) is available for the community to review. The Draft EIR addresses the 6th Cycle Housing Element Update, Safety Element Update, 2040 General Plan Update, and Associated Rezonings. 

Comments or questions regarding the Draft EIR must be submitted in writing by Tuesday, March 14 at 5:00 p.m. and should be addressed to:

Following the Draft EIR public review period, a Final EIR will be prepared. The Final EIR will respond to comments received and may also include corrections, clarifications, and additional explanatory information.
