Community Event Grant ApplicationsThe City is now accepting Community Event Grant Program applications for events that will be held from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. To qualify, events must be located in Saratoga, free and open to the public, volunteer-led, concentrate on Saratoga’s character, diversity, or history, celebrate the community as a whole, and event organizers must agree to obtain a minimum of $1 million liability coverage for the event. Applications are due April 3, 2023. Qualified applications will be reviewed by the Library and Community Engagement Commission on April 10, 2023 to prepare a funding recommendation to be considered by the City Council on April 19, 2023.

Saratoga Community Band ConcertSaratoga Community Band will host a free concert with music to lift your spirits by Bizet, Bernstein, Chambers, Copley, and others. The concert will be held on Monday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the MacAfee Performing Arts Center at Saratoga High School. Admission is free.

Blossom FestivalThe annual Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Heritage Orchard and Saratoga Civic Center, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue. Come enjoy the antique cars, live music, art, crafts, gourmet food trucks, children's activities, a petting zoo, historical characters, local organizations, and more! The event is free to attend and is produced by the Saratoga Historical Foundation.

Saratoga Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project Beginning in March, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in partnership with the City of Saratoga and the County of Santa Clara, will begin construction of the Saratoga Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Highway 9. The project is currently scheduled to be completed in December 2023. One way lane closures will occur during construction activities between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for travel. Housing Element Update Updated Second Draft of the Housing ElementThe Housing Element Second Draft (PDF) has been updated to address public comments, and it has been submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for review. We expect to receive the State's second round of comments in 60 days, which will be on or before March 28. When the comment letter has been received, the City will be able to schedule future public meetings.
Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR)The Draft Environmental Impact Report (PDF) is available for the community to review. The Draft EIR addresses the 6th Cycle Housing Element Update, Safety Element Update, 2040 General Plan Update, and Associated Rezonings.
Comments or questions regarding the Draft EIR were due by March 14. Following the Draft EIR public review period, a Final EIR will be prepared. The Final EIR will respond to comments received and may also include corrections, clarifications, and additional explanatory information.
