Neighborhood Watch Grant Agreement

  1. Neighborhood Watch Grant Agreement

Neighborhood Watch is a great way to maintain a healthy and vibrant neighborhood, as well as aid local law enforcement in their efforts to stop crime. The purpose of the grant is to help launch and/or sustain Neighborhood Watch groups. Each Neighborhood Watch is eligible to receive 1 grant up to $300; grants are issued on a first-come, first-served basis until funding for the grant program runs out.

  2. If you have a registered Neighborhood Watch, use this agreement to receive a City of Saratoga Neighborhood Watch Annual Grant. Agreements should be completed by Neighborhood Watch leads registered with the City. The Neighborhood Watch lead on this agreement should match the City's Neighborhood Watch registration records. Once the agreement is approved, the grant check will be mailed in 1 to 2 weeks. To register your Neighborhood Watch group or update the leads for your group, fill out the registration form at www.saratoga.ca.us/neighborhoodwatch before submitting this agreement.

  3. The grant may be used in any way that supports your Neighborhood Watch Group. Please be advised that State law prohibits the use of public funds for personal or political purposes (Government Code 8314). A report describing the use of the grant funds is required by June 30. Reports can be 2 to 3 sentences describing how your group used the grant. Receipts are not required. Reports can be submitted at www.saratoga.ca.us/neighborhoodwatch.

  4. For additional information, please contact Deputy City Manager Crystal Bothelio at 408.868.1269 or cbothelio@saratoga.ca.us.

I understand and agree that the Neighborhood Watch Group is exclusively responsible for use of funds consistent with the purpose of this grant and that the City of Saratoga has not directed any particular use of the funds and has no control over the manner in activities supported by the grant are conducted. I agree, on my own behalf and on behalf of any successors and assigns, to indemnify, defend and hold the City of Saratoga, its officers, officials, agents, employees, boards, commissions, and volunteers free and harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, liabilities, costs of expenses (including the cost of attorney's fees for defending any action brought against the City or any of its, officers, officials, agents, employees, boards, commissions, and volunteers), arising out of or in any manner relating to any form of loss, injury, or damage sustained by me, my Neighborhood Watch Group, or any person in connection with or in any way relating to the use of the grant funds.
